About Us

Sandberg's Service Center in Valparaiso has been a family owned business for over 45 years. It was back in 1973 that Standard Oil gave John Sandberg the opportunity to open a gas station on East Lincolnway. The shop was relocated to its present location of 1252 W. Lincolnway. John retired in 2005 and has turned all operations over to his two sons Chris and Ryan. Sandberg's has light, medium and heavy duty wreckers and also a repair shop for domestic vehicles, light trucks, and foreign vehicles. After my dads passing I was driving his beloved old truck from Michigan back to Arkansas when in unfamiliar rural Indiana it developed a brake issue rendering it undrivable. On a Sunday. In a stroke of luck I stumbled upon these folks. They towed me to town, dropped me off at a hotel, fixed it the next day for a fair price and sent me on my way. Oh, and the driver had Led Zeppelin and Three Dog Night on the radio on the drive in. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended.
